Illegal Immigration

The clipping below is about the protests continuing in regards to Illegal Immigration. Below this, is what the Mexican flag stands for, and below that, you find my opinion on the matter.

PHOENIX (AP) -- As thousands of protesters marched along Phoenix streets in recent days, many gripped Mexican flags, showing their support for immigration reforms. Some waved giant flags while others carried flags the size of note cards.

It's had an unintended consequence. It's turned off much of the American public. Conservative talk show hosts admonished the action.

But those who carried Mexican flags and scholars of the immigrant community, say that pride in their culture should not be misconstrued as a lack of patriotism in their adopted nation. Critics of waving the red, white and green have questioned marchers' loyalty to the United States, but Latino activists deny the implications.

--What the Flag of Mexico stands for:

Green: Independencia (independence from Spain)
White: Religión (religion, the Roman Catholic faith)
Red: Unión (union between the Europeans and Americans)

There is a simple way to fix all of this:

What the United States Flag Stands for: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

So darnit, pursue the happiness and wave our flag.
